For most of the international students, studying abroad can be challenging in many ways. From learning how to deal with critical situations, and developing organizational and time management skills, to getting used to being far away from home, international students are struggling to make the best out of their daily lives. Not to mention that they also need to be careful about their money and how to spend it. But what if they got an opportunity to gain some additional money while also being in touch with their university life? Well, I have the perfect solution for you! Here are 3 student job opportunities that might help you!
If you choose to study or are already a student at the University of Twente, you have a wide variety of paid student jobs that you can apply for, depending on your preferences and time availability.
Teaching Assistant
For instance, you can apply for being Teacher Assistant, a role that allows you to work together with the teachers, grading exams and projects and assisting your fellow younger colleagues. This can allow you to better yourself regarding your preferred university subjects and also enhance your ability to help others in need.
Student for a Day
Another job that you might consider is Student for a Day worker. Compared to a Teacher Assistant job, the scenario here turns 360 degrees as your tasks are completely different. As a Student for a Day employee, you get the chance to meet prospective high school students and or people who are interested in following your current study programme and spend an entire day together at the university. You take them with you to the lectures, tutorials, and project meetings for that day and answer all their curiosities to give them a 100% accurate overview of the programme.

Open Days Coordinator
Another job that I particularly find interesting is working for the Open Days team. Twice a year, the University of Twente organizes the Open Days for both bachelor and master programmes. These sessions are both physical and online and people from around the world can join and learn more about the university and its programmes, the campus and the life in Enschede along with the tuition fees and admission requirements. As a worker for the Open Days, your tasks are relatively easy but also diverse. It involves a good understanding of your programme so that you can give further details when asked, high interest in working with a team and creative thinking as you have to think of marketing strategies to adopt for promoting your study programme. My experience as a coordinator is highly satisfactory as I got the opportunity to work with the International Business Administration Programme Management team to craft the perfect environment for our visitors (social media content, presentations, and study cases for prospective students). Additionally, I also got to coordinate an entire team of students during the Open Days which made me realize that I enjoy organizing an event, assigning different tasks and working with a diverse team.
